About us

The UN’s 2030 Agenda, with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), aims at ending poverty, reducing global inequalities, tackling climate change, and making the world a fair and livable place for everyone.

The Education Target 4.7 of the 2030 Agenda calls on all countries to ensure that by 2030 all learners gain the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development. This includes education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship, and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development

The “Bildung2030” Platform

The digital platform “Bildung2030” (Education2030) addresses all those who deal with and support the 17 global Sustainable Development Goals and people who are implementing educational programs with these goals in mind.

The platform pools together information on the 2030 Agenda themes, providing a wide range of suggestions on how global challenges can be addressed for all ages and in different teaching and learning situations. It collects resources and materials for schools and other learning settings from across Austria, and offers an overview of currently available continuing education and training for teachers, coaches and instructors. Specially developed quality criteria are applied when choosing these resources. In addition, in order to contribute to critical and sustainable education, the platform presents various educational concepts, including Global Learning/Global Citizenship Education and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

The digital platform “Bildung2030” is a collaborative project being undertaken by BAOBAB, Forum Umweltbildung, KommEnt, Südwind and Welthaus Graz. Its implementation is being funded by the Austrian Development Agency and the Austrian Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology.
